At some point in time, we all move on.

Taking some time off studying and giving myself a break cuz I've just had my first exam earlier today (i.e. my brain is semi-fried). My second exam is at 9am tomorrow so I've got to resume the studying soon. :(
With reference to the subject of my post, my exam today was absolutely horrid. I don't think it was a difficult paper but somehow I just couldn't figure out some bits of it. :( Plus considering how I didn't do too well for my mid-term, and how this is now an honours module (meaning everyone in the class is, on average, smarter), the bell curve is really gonna work against me this time. I know people like G always complain about how little I study and how I always say I'm gonna do like shit but always end up doing fine, but this time I feel like it's different. I reallyyyyy don't want to see my final grades. :'(
I think I've been lucky because for the past 3 years in uni, I've always done okay even when I feel like I'm gonna do badly... So I can only hope that the Bell Curve God is on my side this time round. :/
On the slightly brighter side of life, I am now one step closer to the end of my exams!
It's now time to end my incoherent rambling post and start studying for tomorrow's exam.

| Study Break |

Hardcore studying really isn't my thing. So I'm taking a short breather here just to post up a picture courtesy of E of me wearing the cocoquettes Colours of the Wind Dress. We'll be launching this next week!

Till the 'xams are over at the end of this month. Ta.

| The Embellished Drape Dress |
[Written on November 07, 2011 at 7:04 pm] |
It's just slightly over an hour to our next launch, and I figured that before my photos get outdated, maybe I should put a couple of behind-the-scenes shots on my blog!
Slacking away while our model and photographer are hard at work. :/ I work hard too prior to the photoshoot (steaming clothes) and doing basically everything else apart from photography okay!!
Close-up of the embellishments on the dress that we're launching later. :) Chock full of pretty beads, pearls, and sparkly clear faceted beads! I honestly think the embellishments are really well done and pretty for the price we're selling it at, I SWEAR IT'S A TOTAL STEAL. Plus we're giving free postage as part of our Facebook promo this launch! :D
Say hello to Lala! She's usually not in our behind-the-scenes photos much cuz she's usually the one behind the camera. But here's a rare picture of her. :)
We consciously try to take some behind-the-scenes shots, but after a while the behind-the-scenes shots all look so similar. :( Plus for this shoot I was also busy being the videographer hahaha (which is how we put together our awesome Fall/Winter video!), hence I took quite little pictures. :(
And a very blurry picture of me in the Blanc version of this dress when I had my birthday celebration with G last month! Sorry it's so blur. :( But I look like crap in the clearer pics, which is precisely why I don't model for CCQ because I cannot pose for nuts.
I can't tell you how relieved we are to finally be launching this dress. This dress was actually meant to be launched at the end of LAST YEAR (can you imagine?), but due to sdkfjgnakeruhakeufh 10,000 problems and obstacles along the way - in short, a horrible, unethical, and damn dodgy supplier whom thankfully we will never be working with again, we didn't manage to launch this until now. :( Ah well, nevertheless, this is still one of my favourite dresses amongst our manufactured items despite the story behind it, so hopefully the launch goes well!
In the meantime, hope everyone's having an awesome public holiday. I, for one, am in school. (Y)

| G's 22nd |
[Written on October 25, 2011 at 10:47 pm] |
So my birthday has come and gone already, but I've yet to blog about G's birthday! Which means these photos are 5, going 6 weeks old now. :/

Evidently more pleased with his candy mogu than the Bose headphones. -.-
Birthday boy gets to sleep while his girlfriend drives him around.
Picked up a box of cupcakes since we had time to kill before dinner. :)

G's phone was still pretty new at this point heh. (I just got one for myself too!! So now we have couple phones. So gay, I know.)

It was a durian cake (and I hate durian), so I ended up eating the biscuits hahahaha.
Headed to Clarke Quay after dinner to meet G's friends.
Birthday boy got sabo-ed to go on stage...
He was supposed to be made to sing a song, but he told the guy that "My girlfriend sings better than me." SO I GOT ROPED IN TOO. -_-
Headed to Party World after that, for some KTV!

Okay that's it! Got too lazy to caption the photos toward the end. :/ Till the next!

| On birthdays and growing older |
[Written on October 18, 2011 at 11:32 pm] |
Since I'll be turning the dreaded two-two in a few days' time, I've been thinking about birthdays and all things related. At some point of time in my life, I think I stopped liking the idea of birthdays. I stopped looking forward to my birthday as much as I used to, and I grew to find celebrating a little bit of a chore. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I hate receiving presents, having a good time and being around loved ones, but sometimes when I really think about it, it all seems a little unnecessary to me.
Perhaps it might've been a few less-than-perfect birthdays that I had when I was younger. I distinctly remember maybe 2 or 3 consecutive birthdays which I cried on, probably due to a variety of reasons (which I can't quite recall now). And other birthdays where I got so annoyed because people were bugging me about birthday dinners and asking me to collect my own birthday cake (WTF). It came to a point where I realised that if no one is going to make the effort to celebrate my birthday for me, I'd much rather have no celebration altogether than try to single-handedly create a celebration for myself. I know that sounds a little... Spoilt? But hear me out.
After these experiences, I've realised that if I truly matter to the people around me, they will make the effort to do something (doesn't have to be any grand gesture, it's just the effort that counts) because it's my so-called "special day". If I have to go out of MY way to create MY own celebration in order to celebrate MYSELF, don't you think that sounds even more self-obsessed? It's almost as if you're MAKING people celebrate your birthday. So yes, because of this, I came to the conclusion that if nobody can be bothered to celebrate my birthday for me, I'd rather have no celebration at all.
Like I said, I find all these celebrations increasingly... Unnecessary. (And a lot of trouble too.) Normally, even without the celebrations, I'd still look forward to my birthday because it's exciting to receive gifts that I've been looking forward to. And being the bagaholic I am (or used to be, at least), I will typically be lusting after at least one or two bags at any one time. But this year, there isn't even anything material that I can say I really really really really want, probably because we (my sister and I) already got quite a few bags throughout 2011 and my appetite for bags is pretty much satiated. Which is why there is even less of a reason to look forward to my birthday this year.
And a random birthday picture . . .
This took a bit of digging up, but here's a picture of me feeding myself cake on my 16th birthday hahaha. That was one of those birthdays which I distinctly remember to be very enjoyable.
Ah well, yet another pointless post. I guess my point was, my birthday is on Friday and I'm not particularly looking forward to turning 22. Oh, the part about growing older is a little bit of a turn-off too.
This may very well be my last blog post as a 21 year old girl. :(
